Differences in moldability comparing Injection Compression Molding and Injection Molding
Injection Compression/Press Molding Analysis has been added as an optional feature in PlanetsX 1.2. In the primary stage of Injection Compression Molding, a predetermined amount of resin is injected into a mold which is in an open state. At this point the mold is not filled completely. The molding process is completed by closing the mold to a predetermined position. This method allows the use of much lower injection pressure and pressure on the molded product when compared to Injection Molding. As a result, this method is used to prevent mold defects due to pressure.
In this analysis, consider the differences in Injection Molding and Injection Compression Molding with regard to injection pressure and pressure on the molded product.

Analysis model and mesh model
Injection Compression/Press Molding Analysis provides the choice of two types of mesh models; from the mold in the
open
state in the primary stage or from the mold in the closed state in the final stage. In the closed state model,
initial
amount of open state is required to be input on the graphic user interface.
In this analysis, mesh created from the mold in the open state in the primary stage is used.
Visualization of the filling process of Injection compression molding
The following figure shows the filling process of Injection Compression Molding. The primary phase appears to be a short shot because the mold at this point is in an open position. The filling process is completed by closing the mold.

Analysis model and mesh model
In Injection Molding, a mesh model is created with the shape of the final product.

Comparison of pressures using Injection Molding and Injection Compression Molding
Analysis showing pressure on the molded product is lower in Injection Compression Molding than Injection Molding.
